Government to Negotiate

For over two years we have gone without a new collective agreement. In September of 2013 the CRA tabled their position on compensation. There has been no movement from the Agency on the issue of compensation since that time. We have indicated that we are prepared to negotiate. Yet on such critical matters as wages, broader compensation and leave provisions the CRA and the government have not negotiated.

Thousands of other public service workers have received compensation and other improvements above what the CRA has tabled over the course of this round of bargaining. This includes our former coworkers at CBSA. In short, the government has taken the position that we at CRA should agree to less than what was agreed to for other public service employees.

The government and other separate agencies have negotiated on these items with the PSAC in order to reach an agreement. That has not been the case to date with the CRA.

We are not second-class public service employees. We work hard on behalf of Canadians. We deserve better than this. Much better.

We have mediation scheduled for the end of this month. We call on the Federal Government and the CRA to negotiate with our Bargaining Team in mediation so that we can reach a fair collective agreement.

Join us Wednesday March 18th in showing support for our Bargaining Team. Join us in calling on the government and CRA to negotiate with our union.
