Update for TC members in BC - stay in touch, sign up for regional email updates

Greetings TC members in BC,

As you know, PSAC has been trying to negotiate a new collective agreement for you since April 29, 2011. Your collective agreement determines your pay, benefits and other working conditions, and the PSAC is committed to achieving the best possible package for you.

You likely have questions, such as

  • Why have negotiations been going on for so long?
  • Where are we currently in the process?
  • What are we demanding?
  • What has the employer offered?
  • What is the timeline?
  • Who decides if we go on strike and when?
  • When do I get to say my piece?

Get answers from a member of your Bargaining Team and your Union.

The PSAC National Website has many of those answers - you can register there to receive updates via email. We will post regional information about Information Meetings, Strike Vote Meetings, Strike Courses and Ratification Votes here at psacbc.com as these envents are scheduled - we encourage you to check back here regularly.

We can and will send you all this information directly to your mailbox if you send us an email at braggp@psac-afpc.com giving us your name, local number, department for which you work and your worksite location.

We strongly encourage you to provide us with a personal email address as opposed to your work email address. Employers sometimes block emails from unions when negotiations become more difficult and at a certain point PSAC may need to send you information that we do not wish the employer to see.

Thank you for taking these necessary actions and we will be communicating with you by email in the near future.

In Solidarity,
Bob Jackson, PSAC Regional Executive Vice-President, BC
Tom Hopkins, TC Bargaining Team
Jack Gale, TC Bargaining Team
