An evening of Reconciliation and Education - Cranbrook

May 4, 2019
6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
St. Eugene Resort, 7777 Mission Road, Cranbrook, BC (Map)

The Public Service Alliance of Canada invites all members in the Cranbrook area to an evening of Reconciliation and Education

PSAC BC is holding a union training event at the St. Eugene Resort, formerly the site of the Kootenay Indian Residential School and currently owned and operated by the Ktunaxa Nation.

We are honoured that Hereditary Chief Sophie Pierre has offered to give PSAC members a tour and presentation about the history of the school. Ms. Pierre will share her viewpoint on a timely and relevant Canadian dialogue regarding Reconciliation. Her unique Ktunaxa perspective is based on her personal, lived experience of 9 years in the Kootenay Indian Residential School

Ms Pierre is a former chief of ʔAq̓am, St. Mary’s Indian Band and former chief commissioner of the British Columbia Treaty Commission and an accomplished Indigenous leader.

Light refreshments will be served, please RSVP to BCEducation@psac-afpc.com to help us plan.
