First Nations Health Authority bargaining update

We know it has been some time since bargaining commenced last October and first, we’d like to thank you for your support of the team and your continued vote of confidence.

We can report we finally made some progress at our last session and some items have been resolved to the satisfaction of the Union bargaining team.

Although we cannot yet provide the detailed language for your review and approval until a tentative agreement is reached; we can report after seven days of face to face meetings we have resolved the following:

  • Article 6 – FNHA policies, Article 16, Discipline and Probation, Article 17, Grievance Procedure and Articles 40 and 42 Maternity and Parental Leave without Pay. We have also agreed to make necessary editorial updates prior to completion of bargaining.  Lastly, we have negotiated and extended a Memorandum of Understanding on the Pharma Care Call Centre

Normally bargaining progresses from non-monetary items to monetary items and we hope to be in a position to discuss monetary proposals at our next session of bargaining once all the non monetary items have been finalized.

As you know, bargaining this round has proceeded at a snail’s pace and unfortunately, despite our trying to find earlier dates, the negotiator for FNHA will not be available again until the week of July 9.

You should know, while we are in bargaining, the current Collective Agreement still remains in force and working conditions are fully protected.

We thank you for your continued patience.  Our next bargaining dates are set for the week of July 9th in Vancouver.

In solidarity, Your Bargaining team.
