Orange Shirt Day 2019

Dear members of our union family:

September 30, Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity for our union to come together and support Indigenous peoples in the spirit of reconciliation and hope for generations of children to come. Orange Shirt Day recognizes all of those who experienced the trauma of residential schools and recommits our union to true national reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.

PSAC is committed to work for true reconciliation with the Indigenous peoples of Canada.

On behalf of PSAC BC and PSAC's National Indigenous Peoples' Circle, we ask that you join with us in participating on Orange Shirt Day on Monday, September 30 to commemorate the Every Child Matters campaign.

There are many ways you can get involved!

  • Wear an orange shirt on September 30th to remember the legacy of residential schools and to show your support for a reconciled future
  • Watch and share Phyllis' story which is available here on YouTube
  • Read about the Truth and Reconcilliation Commission and the 94 Calls To Action.
