Regional Womens Committees

Welcome to the union!

Our Regional Women’s Committees are made up of women from many different components. We have a very open door and welcome anyone wanting to join us.

There are Regional Women’s Committees currently in the Southern Interior, Vancouver, Prince George, and Vancouver Island.

PSAC members are the foundation of our union. The PSAC BC Regional Women's Conference will be held under the theme "PSAC BC Women Hold More Than Half the Sky", May 3,4,5 2013 at the Sheraton Hotel, Richmond BC. All PSAC women in BC are encouraged to apply!

International Women's Day is coming up soon and we thought we would highlight a booklet produced by the PSAC Programs Section which outlines some of the negative effects the Conservative government's policies have on women in Canada.

A busy few months for PSAC Women. Towards the end of 2012 we had our National Equity meetings. It was wonderful to be a part of this as we formulated the first National Human Rights Conference for next fall.

PSAC National President Robyn Benson appeared before the Standing Committee on the Status of Women Jan. 29 on sexual harassment in the federal public service. She told the committee the difficult and protracted complaint process may keep victims from filing complaints. Benson asked for improvements in the complaint process and for the government to reaffirm its commitment to eliminating sexual harassment and other forms of discrimination and violence against women, and for a national action plan on violence against women

One billion women dancing is a revolutionOn V-Day’s 15th Anniversary, 14 February 2013, we are inviting one billion women and those who love them to walk out, rise up, and demand an end to this violence. One Billion Rising will move the earth, activating women and men across every country. V-Day wants the world to see our collective strength, our numbers, our solidarity across borders.
