Federal public service workers deserve to receive their salaries in a timely fashion. And they should not have to face delays or errors due the former Conservative government’s decision to consolidate payroll services.
That is the message that Chris Aylward, PSAC’s National Executive Vice-President, delivered in a meeting with Public Services and Procurement Canada on April 7.

A new Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives study entitled Waiting to Happen: Why we need major changes to the health and safety regime in federally regulated workplaces was released today. The study reveals that the health and safety of over a million workers in the federal government and other federally-regulated workplaces is at risk.

Find your local union contact and your collective agreement
By choosing their employer, their job classification and the closest city to where they live, PSAC member can get phone and web contact information for their component or local as well as a link to their collective agreement.
The system is aimed at getting PSAC members answers to their questions about their job faster.

PSAC is opposed to the government’s new security screening policy — which includes credit checks and fingerprinting of public service employees — and will be challenging it.
We are currently gathering evidence to file a court challenge and a privacy complaint with the Privacy Commissioner’s office.
“We are concerned that these checks will be an unwarranted gross violation of personal privacy and they could put people's livelihoods in jeopardy without cause. We are also fearful that the policy could be applied in an arbitrary way," said PSAC President Robyn Benson.
