The employer began our meeting earlier this week chastising your negotiating team for the size of your bargaining package.  They went on to tell us that the current collective agreement was a “mature” document and all that was needed was a little modification. Further, they were not anticipating such a detailed package.  They then requested that we take another look at our package with a view to reducing the number of proposals.

Your PSAC bargaining team began the formal bargaining process and met with the employer for the first time this week. The team, consisting of Dave Jackson, Chair; Rick Levigne, PSAC/UNDE Local 210018; Jamie Oyakawa, PSAC/UNDE Local 210018; Phil Lehman, PSAC/UNDE Local 210018; and Mark Miller, UNDE/VP-BC exchanged proposals with the employer June 16th in Victoria BC. The Union & Employer proposals are available below.

PSAC’s website now helps members connect with their local union representative. Find your local union contact and your collective agreement By choosing their employer, their job classification and the closest city to where they live, PSAC member can get phone and web contact information for their component or local as well as a link to their collective agreement.  The system is aimed at getting PSAC members answers to their questions about their job faster.

PSAC will be conducting a large poll of the membership as part of its ongoing process to ensure that your voices are heard and that your priorities are reflected in the work of our union.Environics Research Group, a well-known and respected polling firm, will be conducting the online survey for PSAC, asking questions about union priorities.

To: PSAC DCL and Separate Employer Unit Locals.Per section 9 of the PSAC BC Regional Bylaws, we will be holding an election for a delegate to represent Directly Chartered Locals and Separate Employer Units (who are not entitled to an automatic delegate) at the upcoming PSAC BC Regional Convention.
