Labour Day - Vancouver

A Free, fun, family event! The Vancouver & District Labour Council, in partnership with sponsoring unions including PSAC, invites you to our Labour Day celebration. Labour Day is the one day in the year where workers’ contributions to our economy, our social well-being and our communities are recognized. We’re pleased to organize this celebration of labour and working people in this free, family-friendly event filled with union booths, entertainers, and family activities!

Join us for ... Bouncy castles, Classic rock band, Face painters, Airbrush tattoos, Juggling camp and more!

  • Date: Monday, September 2nd, 2019
  • Time: 12-5pm (rally: 12:30-1:00)
  • Place: Jack Poole Plaza, 1055 Canada Place, Vancouver (just west of the Convention Centre)
  • Parking: parking is available at Canada Place and the Convention Centre, but is quite expensive. Transit is recommended! (Waterfront Station)
  • Accessibility: the plaza is wheelchair accessible and there are wheelchair accessible washrooms. We will have an ASL interpreter for the rally.

There will be 4 speakers:

  • Indigenous Welcome (speaker TBD)
  • Kennedy Stewart, Vancouver Mayor
  • Stephen von Sychowski, VDLC President
  • Larry Rousseau, CLC Exec VP

Band
Cease & Desist has been one of Vancouver’s favourite party bands for over 30 years. They are a great classic rock/pop tribute act with a song list that covers a 60-year span of hits!
