A tentative agreement has been reached at Vancouver Airport

The Public Service Alliance of Canada and the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees, representing workers employed directly by the Vancouver Airport Authority, are happy to announce that a tentative agreement has been achieved with the Vancouver Airport Authority. There will be no delays or labour disruptions at the airport.

The tentative agreement was reached late Thursday night with the assistance of a federal mediator, after two days of eleventh-hour negotiations.

"I'd like to thank the bargaining team for their work on behalf of PSAC members working at YVR," said Bob Jackson, PSAC Regional Executive Vice-President for BC, "and I'd like to thank our members - their support of the team during this round of negotiations was crucial, and confirmed their confidence in the bargaining team and in our union."

The Union's bargaining team is unanimously recommending acceptance of the tentative agreement.

"It came down to the wire, but in the end I feel we have a fair agreement that works for our members as well as the employer." said Dave Clark, Regional Vice-President of the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees, "We all worked hard to get it."

Highlights of the agreement and ratification information will be available soon.
