AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL WRITE FOR RIGHTS

Celebrate International Human Rights Day, December 10th, by joining people around the world writing letters calling for the protection and promotion of human rights. It’s easy and effective.

Learn about many wonderful social justice and human rights groups at the “Write for Rights”, including Oxfam, Stephen Lewis Foundation, The Council of Canadians, The Canadian Centre for Policy
Alternatives; The Mid-Islanders for Peace and Justice in the Middle East.

The focus of the Human Rights Booth will be the Amnesty “Write for Rights” Campaign. Letter writing materials and postcards will be provided for many of the Amnesty appeals. A meeting room in the
Nanaimo Harbourfront Library (VIRL) will be available for letter writing and volunteers taking breaks from the December chill.

If you would like to get a head start on writing your letters for Human Rights Day, please email humanrights@shaw.ca to receive sample letters.

way.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
