Friends, We are pleased to invite PSAC members in BC to participate in the 2021 BC Regional Health and Safety Conference being held on Friday March 19 to Sunday March 21 via Zoom. The conference is scheduled to begin at 1:00PM on Friday March 19 and will close at 12:00PM on Sunday, March 21. The theme for this conference is: Where Does the Employer’s Responsibility End and Ours Begin?

As part of the End Violence Against Women Virtual Memorial which took place on December 6th, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, the PSAC Vancouver Island Regional Women’s Committee gathered financial donations from members, Locals and Branches and the community towards local women's organisations. In total the Committee raised $3650 and donated $1825 to both the Victoria Women's Transition House Society and the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre.

On the 31st anniversary of the 1989 Montreal massacre and the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women join PSAC in a End Violence Against Women Virtual Memorial, Sunday December 6th 5:00PM - 5:40PM This event is open to all. PSAC/UCTE members of Local 20209 working at Victoria Airport have ratified a one-year extension of the current Collective Agreement. The extension, which expires March 31 2020, contains new improvements to vacation scheduling and protects members jobs during uncertain times for the airline industry: the Airport Authority continues to commit to avoid any layoffs.

On June 4, 2020, the YYJ bargaining team reached a tentative agreement with the Airport Authority to extend the current collective agreement. If ratified, the extension will take effect on date of ratification and will expire March 31, 2021. All members in good standing of Local 20209 Victoria Airport are eligible to receive and use a mail-in ballot to cast their vote.  Only those members who have registered and attended and information session by webinar will have their votes counted.

*** The half day training sessions have been postponed, watch for new dates *** Please use this form to apply for Strike Mobilization and Prepararedness Training half day training for all PSAC members in the PA, TC, SV, EB, FB, CRA, CFIA, and Parks Canada bargaining units. Note we will also be scheduling webinars designed for members in areas outside the designated locations or in remote worksites.
