Today my city lost a great activist. Not a union activist but a strong voice for people with disability. Our family was helped by his activism even before we met him. He ensured that our school district kept speech therapy for children which my son greatly benefited from.
Last week a young graduated student led a group of concerned citizens to present on why it was important to not pull the global education high school program.
Our union is fighting for our rights, our sick leave, our members. And so on......
I am reminded that a lot of what we work for as union activists and as women, is for those that will come behind us. Our contribution and voice is so important to our families, to our communities, to our union and to society.
