National Aboriginal Day and Mainland Human Rights Committee Open House

 The PSAC BC Mainland Human Rights Committee invites you to join us for our open house and National Aboriginal Day celebration! Let’s celebrate with friends, food and guest speakers. We will feast on barbecued salmon and bannock, while learning about human rights and the original people of this continent. Our feature speaker at the event will be Tamara Starblanket.

About Tamara Starblanket - Tamara is a Nehiyaw (Cree) from Ahtahkakoop First Nation in Treaty Six Territory. Tamara holds an LLM from the University of Saskatchewan, and an LLB from the University of British Columbia and a B.A. from Simon Fraser University. She teaches and coordinates the Aboriginal Justice Studies Program at the Native Education College. She was recently elected Co-Chair of the North American Indigenous Peoples’ Caucus (NAIPC). She is a former Director of Policing and Research and Development at the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian
