Workers at Prince George Airport have a new collective agreement.
Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) / Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE) Local 20212 working at the airport voted Wednesday to ratify a tentative agreement reached earlier in the week.
Highlights of the five-year contract, which came into effect in April 2016 and expires in March 2021, include a wage increase averaging 2.5% per year over the life of the agreement, and improvements to language around staffing and safety equipment.
“I’d like to thank the bargaining team for their work on behalf of the members over the past months and congratulate them on achieving a fair agreement.” said Bob Jackson, PSAC Regional Executive Vice-President for BC, “I know our members at the airport are pleased to have reached an agreement with the employer in a relatively short time frame. The support they showed for their team contributed greatly to the success of this round of negotiations.”
PSAC/UCTE represents workers employed by the Prince George Airport Authority, providing key services such as emergency response, customer care, maintenance, IT and administrative services.
