Welcome to November – the year has just flown by. The work of the Women’s Committees continues and I encourage you to join the committee in your area. Currently committees are in Vancouver, Victoria, Okanagan, and Prince George. I hope to see some of you at the National Equity Conference this month in Toronto.
All committees are busy working on upcoming events for December 6th, 2013 National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
From November 25 – December 10 there are the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender. November 25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. It marks the first day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence, and December 10 – International Human Rights Day – is the final day.
The BC Federation of Labour Women’s Rights Standing Committee met on November 1st, 2013 and I invite you to review my attached report. Please let me know if you have any questions or thoughts – they are always welcome.
