I would like to congratulate the Organizing Committee who worked hard to make this historic Conference – the first in our Region – a success and I encourage participants to build on the work that took place over the weekend by continuing to mobilize, network, and strategize on the important issues that impact racially visible members in our union.

I also very much look forward to working with all members in the Region to further the recommendations that emerged from the Conference.
