Thank you! A message from Jamey Mills

Friends,

I want to thank all the members in BC who helped organize and took part in actions on February 28th to mark the second anniversary of the disastrous Phoenix pay system.

By all accounts the day was a huge success and I am very proud of the BC Region. Click for a wrap up of the activities that took place and the excellent media coverage.

Hundreds of members in BC took action at rallies, petition gathering events, Phoenix first aid sessions, and workplace activities at locations throughout the province. We stood together to let the government know that we’ve had enough of not getting paid properly or on time, we've had enough of worrying every second Wednesday about our pay, we've had enough of worrying about our T-4 slips, and we've had enough stress.

PSAC members work hard day in and day out providing the services Canadians need and deserve, and we have the right to be paid correctly and on time.

During the 2015 election, the Prime Minister promised to respect federal public service workers. We expect him to live up to that commitment.

We will continue to mobilize until the government provides damages that recognize the financial hardship and stress Phoenix has caused and federal government workers are paid correctly and on time.

Until then, the government is not off the hook.

Thank you all again for taking action and watch for more to come.

In Solidarity,

Jamey Mills,
Regional Executive Vice President
Public Service Alliance of Canada, BC
