Union and IMP meet with the Arbitrator

Our bargaining team traveled to Vancouver for a one-day meeting with the arbitrator and the employer to go over our arbitration submissions. The meeting was requested by IMP, but they largely repeated what had already been said in their written arguments.

We continued to push for improvements on our main issues:

• Wages, premiums and fair compensation
• Shift schedules (Hours of work)
• Standby pay
• Seniority for deployments
• Overtime for travel
• Sick leave
• Vacation leave
• Benefits and RRSP contributions

The arbitrator will now take time to prepare a decision – generally that takes 2-3 months. We will let you know as soon as we have a decision.
