Vancouver residents: Make your voice heard on October 14th!

PSAC members who live in the City of Vancouver are reminded that a by-election is coming up soon!

General voting day is October 14 and advance voting is October 4 and 10 – for more information visit vancouver.ca.

As in past, the Vancouver & District Labour Council, who represent workers from over 100 affiliated unions in the city – including PSAC – is making an endorsement in the election.

The Labour Council submitted questionnaires to candidates asking for their views and ideas on privatization and contracting out, affordable housing, poverty, transit, the economy and other issues that are important to working people.

The VDLC reviewed the answers, interviewed candidates, and then held a general membership vote to finalize their endorsement. Visit vdlc.ca to find out more about the process.

Municipal elections provide an opportunity to directly shape the direction of our community: the PSAC Vancouver Area Council encourages members to consider the VDLC’s endorsed candidates, but most importantly to vote.
