More progress has been made during recent weeks in the development of new occupational group structure for current PA bargaining unit members.This work brings us closer to the day when actual reform of the outdated classification standards at Treasury Board can begin.

Ottawa – Canada's largest federal public sector union says that 3,889 of its members in 13 departments are being told today they could lose their jobs.“This government is misleading Canadians when it says these cuts won't impact services we all rely on,” said PSAC's national president Robyn Benson. “We need Stephen Harper and his Ministers to stop hiding behind spin and start talking to all Canadians about the services we are losing.”

VANCOUVER, June 12, 2012 /CNW/ - Surfers and swimmers at the popular Long Beach in Pacific Rim National Park are at risk after federal cuts this month removed four lifeguards who have been in place each summer for nearly 40 years, says their union.The concerns of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, the union representing workers at Parks Canada, are echoed by Tofino's mayor and the Tofino-Long Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Bargaining continues to be difficult for the Technical Services (TC), Border Services (FB), Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Parks Canada units of the federal government. The climate has worsened considerably since the federal budget, which slashes the size of the public service. Parks and CFIA in particular have been heavily targeted for job reductions.

VANCOUVER, April 11, 2012 /CNW/ - The Public Service Alliance  of Canada, the largest federal public sector union in the country, says that over 5,000 federal public service workers in 23 Government Departments received notices today saying they could lose their jobs.
