The Vancouver & District Labour Council (VDLC) is pleased to announce that Judy Rebick will be the keynote speaker at our annual International Women’s Day Dinner.

Ms. Rebick is a highly respected feminist, political commentator, author and social activist. She is the founder of Rabble.ca and is a former president of the National Action Committee on the Status of Women (NAC).

The BC Regional Union Safety and Health Committee (BRUSH) is happy to host the BC Regional Health & Safety Conference.

The theme for this conference is "Health and Safety - Our Power Our Responsibility" and we will focus our attention on the Canada Labour Code, Workplace Committees and Mental Health.  On the issue of mental health, we have secured Dr. Gary Namie, Workplace Bulling Institute, as a guest speaker on Sunday morning.  Dr. Namie will be speaking on workplace bulling and mental health.

The Vancouver Regional Women's Committee is proud to present "The Long Road to Justice: The Viola Desmond Story"

Viola Desmond was a successful entrepreneur from Halifax who was the victim of racial discrimination. While traveling through Nova Scotia in 1946, she was jailed and convicted for sitting on the main level of a movie theatre.
