Federal budget missed opportunity for the economy and services

(Ottawa) The union representing most federal government workers in Canada says that Federal Budget 2013 is a missed opportunity for the economy and services.

"We called on the government to recognize that austerity has hurt Canadians and the economy and that it's time to reverse cuts and invest in and restore federal government services," said PSAC national president Robyn Benson.

Prince George, BC– The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and the Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) are pleased to announce a new collective agreement has been ratified by both parties.

Prince George Airport Authority President and CEO John Gibson says “the PGAA and our local staff have a great working relationship and that is why we were able to get an agreement prior to the expiry of the existing agreement.”

The rally takes place at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 19 outside the Kitsilano Coast Guard Station in Vancouver – 1661 Whyte Avenue in Vanier Park [off Chestnut Street below the Burrard Street Bridge.]

VANCOUVER – The union representing crew of the Kitsilano Coast Guard Station will hold a rally Saturday January 19 at 11 a.m. at the Jericho Sailing Centre to oppose federal Conservative government plans to close the Station imminently, after several crew members received notice of transfer.
