VANCOUVER, March 27, 2012 /CNW/ - The Public Service Alliance of Canada, in conjunction with the Canadian Labour Congress, will host a Budget Watch when the federal budget comes down at 1PM on March 29th.
Representatives from PSAC, Labour, and the Community will then host a press conference at 2PM to provide reaction and response to the federal budget, which is anticipated to slash public services by $8 to $10 billion and is likely to devastate key social, environmental and cultural services that Canadians rely on.
The event will evaluate the impact of the anticipated cuts on the public and on the workers who deliver public services and will also enable federal public sector workers from various departments to engage with each other, as they sort through the implications for themselves and their communities.
