Bob Jackson wrote a letter to the editor of the National Post, in response to this column by John Robson. Read it below ... I was disappointed to see John Robson use another in a long line of flawed reports by the Fraser Institute as an excuse to launch an attack on public service workers.

** To: PSAC members in British Columbia ** Bill C-27, An Act to amend the Pension Benefits Standards Act, 1985, was quietly introduced in the House of Commons in October. There was no press release from the government, and no advance notice given to or consultation with unions, pension plan members, or retirees.

On November 11th we commemorate Remembrance Day by reflecting on the sacrifices made by those who have served, been injured, and the many that have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country and our way of life. War and conflict can leave veterans with serious, life changing medical, emotional and psychological trauma that impacts themselves and their families. Our government has a responsibility to care for our veterans when they return home.

To: PSAC Locals and Activists in BC, via email. Sisters and Brothers, It’s that time of year again: summer has turned to fall and the 2016 Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC) has just launched. The GCWCC is the largest workplace charitable campaign in Canada. It is also one of the most successful, thanks to the generosity of members who work in the federal public service. When PSAC members give to United Way, we are making a statement: we are saying that we believe in a healthy, caring, inclusive community for all.
