Request for Raffle Donations for the PSAC B.C. 2020 Regional Convention

To all PSAC BC Locals/Branches, DCLs, Components, Area Councils, and Regional Committees,

I am writing on behalf of the PSAC B.C. Regional Council Convention Committee. At the upcoming PSAC B.C. Regional Triennial Convention the Committee is organizing a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction to raise money for two charitable organizations that operate within BC. As a Committee, we are seeking your support with this endeavour. For the silent auction we are calling for donations of baskets or items to be raffled off.
Our Convention Committee has decided on Protein for People as the recipient for the funds raised from the silent auction and Poverty Reduction Coalition for the 50/50 raffle.

The Union Protein Project is a community partnership to address the shortages of protein at BC’s food banks and the shortages of an economy that leaves people vulnerable. They work to ensure that no child, family or community needs food banks and that people in BC have good jobs that feed them, their family and their community. For more information, please visit www.proteinproject.ca

The BC Poverty Reduction Coalition (BCPRC) is an alliance of over 400 organizations in BC that have come together to raise awareness about poverty and inequality and improve the health and well-being of all British Columbians. For more information, please visit bcpovertyreduction.ca

If you are able to donate a basket or an item for the auction, please email Bert Farwell at bertfar@shaw.ca so that we have an idea of how many items will be included in the auctions. If you would like to make a monetary donation in lieu of a basket, the Convention Committee will prepare a basket on your behalf. Please note that PSAC is not able to accept meat, alcohol, cannabis, and lottery and gaming items as gifts.
Donations sent in advance of convention must be received by Thursday, April 23, 2020. Items can be sent to the REVP's Office at 302 -5238 Joyce Street, Vancouver BC V5R 6C9. Donations can also be brought directly to convention on the morning of Friday, May 1, 2020.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at bertfar@shaw.ca or the REVPs office at 604-430-0191 (toll free 1-866-811-7700).

In Solidarity,
Bert Farwell
Chair of the PSAC BC Regional Council Convention Committee
