The Local 20500 bargaining team, representing 400 PSAC members employed by the Commissionaires Victoria, the Islands and Yukon, met with the employer the week of August 25 and again the week of September 2 in Victoria. The team was pleased to see that there was a distinct change in tone and in the approach to bargaining, largely due to the fact that the employer made adjustments to their team since the last meeting in July.

PSAC's IMP bargaining team met with the company in Vancouver for three days with the help of a conciliator last week. The team was hopeful IMP would address their workplace concerns and that a new contract would be negotiated without having to go to arbitration. Unfortunately, based on the minimal movement by the employer, PSAC is filing for arbitration. The bargaining team is fighting for fair treatment of all members working at IMP. The table below shows the union's position on key issues, and the company’s response to them:

PSAC is happy to announce that a new collective agreement has been ratified by members of the Swissport Canada fuel services bargaining unit at Vancouver International Airport. The agreement, which was achieved with the assistance of a federal conciliation officer, expires October 2021 and includes a fair wage increase and improvements to shift premiums. The employer has also committed to addressing members’ concerns around part-time workers, with binding arbitration to take place should the union and the company not reach an agreement.

On June 12, the payday during National Public Service Week, PSAC members at worksites across BC took action to let the government know we want a fair deal at the bargaining table and we deserve a fair Phoenix settlement. Lots more photos here at Facebook. PSAC has been committed to achieving a new contract for our members in the PA, SV, TC, and EB groups that ensures fair economic increases, improves work-life balance, strengthens job security, and closes wage gaps with the private sector.

PSAC’s bargaining team representing members at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) held a fourth bargaining session for a new collective agreement between June 11 and 13.

The Swissport bargaining team, comprised of Barry Tchir, Ron Chohan, John Alexandrakis, Ravi Dhami, Devin Glass, and Erna Post are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement for members working as fuelers at YVR has been achieved. The bargaining team last met with the employer June 21, 22, 23 and 26, 27 and worked hard alongside a federal conciliation officer to reach a fair tentative agreement, which the team is recommending that the membership vote in favour of.
