PSAC negotiates wages and working conditions for employees in almost 150 Locals and in hundreds of workplaces in our region. See below for national and regional updates.

Specific regional bargaining updates

PSAC's bargaining team used the opening session with Parks Canada, Sept. 20-22 to emphasize members concerns over contracting out, the use of contractors and volunteers and the student issue.

The second full session of TC bargaining, held September 21-23, got off to a rocky start.  During this session, the TC bargaining team sent a clear message to the employer: find ways to address our legitimate proposals.

Bargaining Team continues to demand fair scheduling practices, seniority rights and pension reform.Our FB bargaining team met with Treasury Board and CBSA representatives in Ottawa the week of September 12th to continue negotiations for a new contract. Talks over the course of the four days focussed on our proposals concerning VSSA and non-VSSA scheduling, seniority rights and early retirement for CBSA workers.

The CFIA bargaining team met in Ottawa last week to prioritize bargaining demands in preparation for negotiations with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

During negotiations this past fall, the ships crews' sub-committee agreed to continue discussing key issues.

The team reminded Treasury Board that we intend to resolve long-standing workplace problems and make gains during this round of Collective Bargaining, and that we will not negotiate concessions.

PSAC Bargaining Team continues to push for changes to retirement plan, proposes summer bargaining dates.Our FB bargaining team met with Treasury Board and CBSA representatives in Ottawa the week of June 20 to continue negotiations for a new contract. Over the course of the week the parties discussed our demands related to working alone, leave for dental and medical appointments, increase in shift premium, and pension reform.

PRINCE RUPERT – Workers at the Prince Rupert Airport are prepared to strike after negotiations with management broke down earlier this month.
