The B.C. Coalition for Safety Before Profits and its members have launched an online campaign to tell Kinder Morgan to keep their promise to British Columbians – and that is a promise to put SAFETY BEFORE PROFITS.

Following the recent ratification of new agreements by the PA, SV, TC and EB Treasury Board groups, the following steps will be taken:

• Signing of new collective agreements
• Retro pay and implementation of wage and special monetary increases
• Implementation of collective agreement provisions

A telephone town hall meeting with Bob Jackson, PSAC's Regional Vice President for BC, Irene Lanzinger, President of the BC Federation of Labour, and Janet Routledge, Burnaby North BC NDP Candidate. Panellists spoke with and took questions from PSAC members across British Columbia about the 2017 BC provincial election.

The federal government has announced a new plan to deal with the failed Phoenix pay system. The plan includes a new task force of senior ministers in the government. 

“Our members have been dealing with the consequences of the Phoenix debacle for over a year. What they need is more concrete action on the government’s part,” said Robyn Benson, PSAC National President. “This government has even given up on setting a target date to fix Phoenix.”

The National Day of Mourning, held on April 28, was established to remember those who have lost their lives, or suffered injury or illness on the job. It also recognizes those who have worked tirelessly to prevent exposures, injuries and fatalities on the job and to celebrate their victories.
