May 17 is the International Day Against Homophobia. The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) stands in solidarity with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans communities in opposition to homophobia and transphobia.

As of May 25th, negotiations between Canada Post Corporation and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers are ongoing but the threat of a strike or lockout still exists.

I am pleased to share that on May 13-15, 2011 at the B.C. Regional Convention we had the largest contingent of young worker delegates and observers to date!

With fourteen young workers taking part as either delegates or observers in one of the highest decision-making bodies for the PSAC in the B.C. Region we have high hopes young worker participation will continue to grow our Union.

As a result of an election process at Convention:

PRINCE RUPERT – Workers at the Prince Rupert Airport are prepared to strike after negotiations with management broke down earlier this month.
