The 2014 Public Service Employee Survey released yesterday continues to demonstrate the negative impact of public service cuts. The survey results also raise major concerns about the continuing problems of harassment and poor mental health in the public service. Despite these problems, most public service workers are committed to doing a good job.

Our PA, TC, SV, EB, and FB teams spent the week in negotiations with Treasury Board, seeking significant improvements to the mental health provisions in our collective agreements as well improved child care options for public service workers. These proposals were tabled during negotiations with Treasury Board on Tuesday January 13.

Because behind the scenes, public service workers across this country – like airline and train safety inspectors, accident inspectors, counter-terrorism specialists, flood forecasters and many others — make sure of it.  These workers - members of the Technical Services Group – have one important thing on their mind every day: the safety and security of all Canadians.

PSAC spent the week of November 18 in negotiations with Treasury Board, seeking to improve workplace conditions on behalf of more than 100,000 of our members. In doing so, we put forward proposals that would both protect workers strengthen public services for all Canadians.

Our union is in the midst of negotiations with the federal government on behalf of 100,000 members that work for Treasury Board. PSAC is putting forward concrete proposals that will make federal workplaces healthier. Because healthy workplaces mean better services for all Canadians.

Our union spent the week of September 9th in negotiations with Treasury Board. We were united in our mission to improve working conditions and reject attacks on crucial benefits such as sick leave.
