Regional Womens Committees

Welcome to the union!

Our Regional Women’s Committees are made up of women from many different components. We have a very open door and welcome anyone wanting to join us.

There are Regional Women’s Committees currently in the Southern Interior, Vancouver, Prince George, and Vancouver Island.

PSAC BC Region Education Subsidies for the Summer Institute for Union Women2019

Summer Institute for Union Women, July 2-6, 2019 The PSAC BC Education Program is pleased to offer five $500 education subsidies to PSAC BC women members who are registering for the Western Region Summer Institute for Union Women (SIUW) being hosted by the BC Federation of Labour on July 2-6, 2019 at UBC in Vancouver. The theme is “Equity. Justice. Reconcili-action: Building worker power through Intersectional feminism and activism."

Media Advisory - End Violence Against Women Candlelight Vigil, December 6th, Holland Point Park, Victoria

Victoria - The Public Service Alliance of Canada Victoria Regional Women’s Committee is sponsoring a candlelight vigil at Holland Point Park in Victoria on December 6th, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada. December 6th marks the anniversary of the murder of 14 women at the École Polytechnique in Montreal. Members of the public will gather to reflect on violence against women and collect donations for local women's organizations.

The PSAC Vancouver Regional Women’s Committee encourages all of our members to take part in March On Vancouver on January 20th in support of equality, diversity, and inclusion. The march will begin at Jack Poole Plaza at 10AM and takes place on the unceded Coast Salish Territories xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh).

PSAC members, along with the New Westminster & District Labour Council and the Kwantlen Students Association, helped organize a candlelight vigil at Holland Park on December 6th, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
