PSAC is happy to announce that a new Collective Agreement has been ratified by members of UPCE Local 20095 working at Purolator Courier in BC. The new contract, which expires in December 2022 and was achieved with the help of a conciliator, includes wage increases, improved leave provisions including extra flexibility and time for bereavement leave, and stronger anti-harassment language. The agreement also includes the creation of a joint Union/Management Committee mandated to discuss and resolve issues relating to inadequate long term disability benefits.

updated February 26 2019 PSAC BC is happy to report that our bargaining team achieved a tentative agreement for members working at Purolator on February 4 2019. Per PSAC Regulation 15, a ratification vote has been scheduled for members in the bargaining unit as follows. Copies of the ratification kit will be available and members of the bargaining team will make a presentation and answer questions at the meetings.

PSAC BC is happy to report that our bargaining team achieved a tentative agreement for members working at Purolator on February 4 2019. The ratification vote kit and meeting schedule will be available soon - watch for more information in the near future. The PSAC/UPCE bargaining team would like to thank all the members of Local 20095 for their participation in the bargaining meetings, for their messages of support, and for their solidarity during a tough round of bargaining.

  Talks have broken off as of October 20, 2018, when Purolator management indicated that would be making an application for conciliation.

The Union team met with the employer October 19 and 20 in Vancouver. Your bargaining team was seeking financial parity with all other unionized employees who work for the company and Purolator chose not to meet that minimum request. The team strongly believes that the monetary proposal falls well short of that provided to other unionized workers at Purolator.

The Union was scheduled to meet with Purolator July 18 to 20. It was our intention to try and reach a deal by the end of the session. Regrettably, it was a frustrating session and despite our best efforts to conclude an agreement with the Company we were unable to do so.

Our Bargaining Conference was held last October (21,22) in Vancouver.  Delegates to the conference reviewed over eighty proposals and a final package of proposals was adopted and prioritized by the delegates in attendance. The following bargaining team and alternates were also elected at the conference. Bargaining team:  Joanne Hay Corinne Holzworth and Jen Horsley. Alternate team members are: Kathy Horst, Karen Hirst, Lori Bradbeer Bargaining was held in Vancouver March 22 and 23. PSAC and Purolator exchanged proposals and held preliminary discussions.

PSAC’s website now helps members connect with their local union representative. Find your local union contact and your collective agreement By choosing their employer, their job classification and the closest city to where they live, PSAC member can get phone and web contact information for their component or local as well as a link to their collective agreement.  The system is aimed at getting PSAC members answers to their questions about their job faster.

PSAC will be conducting a large poll of the membership as part of its ongoing process to ensure that your voices are heard and that your priorities are reflected in the work of our union.Environics Research Group, a well-known and respected polling firm, will be conducting the online survey for PSAC, asking questions about union priorities.
