Specific regional bargaining updates

July 7, 2020 - 11:50am •
PSAC/UCTE members of Local 20209 working at Victoria Airport have ratified a one-year extension of the current Collective Agreement. The extension, which expires March 31 2020, contains new improvements to vacation scheduling and protects members jobs during uncertain times for the airline industry: the Airport Authority continues to commit to avoid any layoffs.

The CMHC Granville Island bargaining team, consisting of Tony Barrow, Sandy Scott, Steven Chen, Verda Cook, and Maxime Thibault-Gingras met remotely with the employer on June 2, 3, and 29 to continue bargaining the new collective agreement. The current agreement expired March 31, 2020. The team and the employer continued working through a significant amount of employer-side non-monetary proposals, many of which are housekeeping items that do not affect the substance of the collective agreement.

Negotiations for 70,000 PSAC members in the PA group as well as the Treasury Board common issues and Phoenix damages tables started today with negotiations for nearly 30,000 members working at CRA set to begin on July 6th.

On June 4, 2020, the YYJ bargaining team reached a tentative agreement with the Airport Authority to extend the current collective agreement. If ratified, the extension will take effect on date of ratification and will expire March 31, 2021. All members in good standing of Local 20209 Victoria Airport are eligible to receive and use a mail-in ballot to cast their vote.  Only those members who have registered and attended and information session by webinar will have their votes counted.
