Updates

Bob Jackson has been re-elected to his second term as PSAC Regional Executive Vice-President for BC at the BC Regional Convention, held April 25 to 27 in Vancouver.

Prior to being elected to his first term as REVP in 2011, Bob worked at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for over thirty years, was the Agriculture Union Regional Vice President for eighteen years, and held many positions in his Local. As REVP, Bob’s sits on the Alliance Executive Committee, where his portfolio includes Health and Safety, the Environment, and TC Group Bargaining.

We are holding 2 in-person and 3 online meetings for CFIA members in BC. All CFIA bargaining and ratification information is here at the national website.

In-person sessions - note: it is not necessary to register, drop by at the indicated time(s): sessions will be held every 1/2 hour.

It’s a privilege to submit the report of the Regional Executive Vice-President to the delegates, observers and guests of the 6th PSAC B.C. Regional Triennial Convention and to the membership of the Public Service Alliance of Canada in the B.C. Region.

This report highlights some of the Region’s accomplishments and much of the hard work conducted by the members in the B.C. Region over the last three years.

Download the report here - note it is a ~11MB .pdf file.

On May 1st PSAC members across BC will congregate outside of their worksites and hold signs that say "Standing Together for Public Services, Standing Together for Fairness”.

It’s time to send a message to the government: We are united, ready and committed to defending our collective agreements, public services, and our working conditions.

Why? Because we know this government is determined to try to take away as many of our negotiated benefits as possible.  That’s the example they’re setting.

I’d like to congratulate all the PSAC members in British Columbia for making the United Way workplace giving campaigns, once again, a success. Thank you to those of who worked hard on the campaigns and to those of you who donated to a very worthy cause.
