Staffing issues are one of the most important issues raised by employees, and we hear countless stories from our members who’ve experienced racism, sexism, ableism and discrimination during the hiring process.

Note that members wishing to observe the 8th PSAC BC Regional Triennial Convention, which has been rescheduled for May 6-9, 2021 must register using the online form here by February 18 2021.

Note that given that the Convention will now be held virtually registration fees have been waived, however PSAC BC is not responsible for any costs associated with the attendance of observers.

Here is the REVP report (Coordinators were not required to provide a report to this meeting), meeting and teleconference call minutes, and meeting agenda presented at the January 2021 PSAC BC Regional Council meeting which was held virtually.

This is the recording of a webinar delivered by PSAC BC providing a walk-through of the four-step framework for collective agreement article interpretation.  Facilitators examined sample articles from recently ratified collective agreements and asked:

What entitlement or right does the Collective Agreement provision establish?

Who has the right to this provision?

What conditions need to be satisfied for the right to come into effect?

February is Black History Month – time to acknowledge and celebrate the cultural and political contributions of people of African descent to Canada!

The PSAC BC Mainland Human Rights Committee has created a series of fun and educational quizzes designed to test your knowledge of Black History in Canada. We'll be posting one per week during February.

Test your knowledge below and watch for the next quiz coming next week at https://psacbc.com/topics/human-rights
