Updates

The PSAC Vancouver and Victoria Regional Offices will be closed starting December 25 until staff return to working remotely on January 4, 2021.

In the event of an emergency or urgent business, call the Vancouver Office at (604) 430-5631 or 1 (800) 663-1655 and leave a message in the general delivery mailbox – we will be checking the voicemail regularly and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Season’s Greetings from all the staff in the BC Region! Take care and stay safe.

As part of the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence, the PSAC Vancouver Regional Women’s Committee launched the SOS: Supporting Our Sisters campaign, designed to assist women who are facing homelessness or require support through transition houses.

Committee members gathered donations themselves and through their community networks and Locals (special thanks to Local 20937) and delivered them to women’s organizations in North Vancouver, Abbotsford, Surrey, and Vancouver’s Downtown East Side.

The Public Service Alliance of Canada BC Region stands in solidarity with farmers, labour activists and workers in India who continue their peaceful protest against new agricultural laws.

The proposed laws will deregulate agricultural markets and will effectively undermine the livelihoods of Indian farmers, opening them up to exploitation by large corporations.

With the majority of India’s population relying on agriculture as their main source of livelihood, the impact of these changes to Indian workers will be devastating.

Thank you to the almost 200 PSAC BC women who responded to our COVID-19 and Women survey. We sincerely appreciate your openness in sharing of your experiences during this challenging time. The responses are being reviewed to best inform the BC Region’s women’s program for 2021.
