Re: Organizing Committee for the PSAC BC 2021 Health & Safety Conference

PSAC BC is seeking applications from members of the BRUSH Committee who are interested in organizing the PSAC BC 2021 Health & Safety Conference.

Members of Local 21018 work hard at the IMP Group facility in Comox, where they are a critical part of search and rescue in Canada's west and northern coast and interior areas, yet they have been without a contract for over a year. The employer continually dragged their feet and delayed the negotiation process.

Sisters, Brothers and Friends,
We hope this new Convention Call will provide you with all the information you will need to register and participate in the 8th B.C. Regional Triennial Convention of the Public Service Alliance of Canada. Our Convention will be held online, beginning Thursday, May 6 and concluding on Sunday, May 9.

Here is the REVP report, meeting and teleconference call minutes, and meeting agenda presented at the October 2020 PSAC BC Regional Council meeting which was held virtually.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted members and our communities across the country. This continues to be a challenging time for everyone, and I salute the dedication of our activists in continuing to serve the membership.

This year has been challenging for everyone but especially so for women in vulnerable situations.

As part of the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence, the PSAC Vancouver Regional Women’s Committee has initiated a campaign called SOS: Supporting Our Sisters which will help assist women who are facing homelessness or require support through transition houses during the holiday season.
