Accessing feminine hygiene products is challenging for low income and homeless women. Food, shelter, and clothing take precedence, leaving women with few options to deal with their periods with dignity. As a result, women often have to resort to stealing feminine hygiene products, or utilizing socks or toilet paper in lieu of sanitary pads or tampons, which leaves them more susceptible to infection.

The Swissport bargaining team, comprised of Barry Tchir, Ron Chohan, John Alexandrakis, Ravi Dhami, Devin Glass, and Erna Post are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement for members working as fuelers at YVR has been achieved.

The bargaining team last met with the employer June 21, 22, 23 and 26, 27 and worked hard alongside a federal conciliation officer to reach a fair tentative agreement, which the team is recommending that the membership vote in favour of.

For as far back as oral histories can tell us, Indigenous people around the world have marked the summer and winter solstices in ceremony, ritual and celebration. Here, on Turtle Island, most Indigenous communities mark the longest day of the year by reminding ourselves of all the good things in our lives and by giving thanks for all that the earth has shared with us.

Our PSAC-Customs and Immigration Union (PSAC-CIU) bargaining team representing Border Services (FB) rejected concessions to job security and again pushed for 25 and out retirement during negotiations with Treasury Board/Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) the week of June 10.
