The PSAC/UTE bargaining team met with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on October 23-25 to continue negotiations for a new collective agreement. While the team raised a number of key issues like job security, scheduling protections, and improving working conditions in call centres, the employer did not move to resolve them.

Bargaining teams representing nearly 90,000 federal public service workers were at the bargaining table with Treasury Board (TB) on October 16-17.

PSAC secured an important victory this past week when the Federal Court of Appeal ruled that a member should be compensated for the sexual harassment and assault she experienced in her workplace.

Greetings,

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) is currently in a difficult round of bargaining with Canada Post. After over 10 months of negotiations and despite the Union's efforts to resolve key issues, the parties are still far apart.

On October 16, 2018, CUPW issued strike notice, with rotating strike action to begin on Monday morning, October 22, 2018, at 00:01 should a negotiated settlement not be achieved.

On September 27th the Vancouver Island Young Worker Committee elected new leadership and executive members to take the committee forward into 2019 and beyond.

Please welcome the revamped and new executive members to the committee and stay tuned for initiatives from your Vancouver Island Young Worker committee going forward.
