To:     PSAC members who have self-ID as being in an equity-seeking group, PSAC members thirty years of age and younger.Per section 9 of the PSAC BC Regional Bylaws, we will be holding an election for delegates to represent equity-seeking groups (Members with a Disability, Aboriginal, Racially Visible, and GLBT) and Young Workers at the upcoming PSAC BC Regional Convention.Section 9

We are happy to announce that PSAC-BC Region will be holding a Young Workers education/planning session for our members 30 years of age or younger Saturday, December 7, 2013 (12:00 p.m.–4:30 p.m.) to Sunday, December 8, 2013 (9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.) at the PSAC Vancouver Regional Office. We encourage PSAC Young Workers from across BC to apply.

This is a call out to PSAC equity activists (Aboriginal Peoples, Racialized Workers, Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Trans Members, and Members with Disabilities), Regional Women's Committee members, and Young worker activists (30 or younger) to participate in the upcoming Treasury Board units and Parks National Bargaining Conferences

The PSAC-BC Young Worker Caucus conducted an on-line survey of young workers with various questions including the importance of sick leave, thoughts on union dues, support of a provincial-wide childcare campaign and more - and young workers definitely had something to say.We've shared the results with our Young Worker Committee members and look forward to hearing what they think and what they're planning next.

The B.C. Federation of Labour Occupational Health and Safety Centre is seeking applicants to fill a five day per week term position with the Centre’s Occupational Health and Safety program for young workers.The position is beginning Monday, August 19, 2013 for a one year term with possible extension and is part of the USW 2009 bargaining unit at the B.C. Federation of Labour, salary and benefits are reflected in the appropriate Collective Agreement.Details in the attached letter below.
