Former BC NDP premier Glen Clark and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 38 are sponsoring a new scholarship for students who are enrolled or considering enrollment in the Simon Fraser University (SFU) Labour Studies Program.

The ongoing scholarship, which provides $2,500 annually, is established in memory of Clark’s father James, who was a business agent for the Painters Union for many years.

PSAC and UCTE are happy to announce that a new collective agreement has been ratified by the members of UCTE Local 20221 who are employed directly by the Vancouver Airport Authority.

The new contract, which expires in December 2022, includes a wage increase that recognizes the value of the work members perform at YVR, major improvements to short term sick leave, an increase to standby pay, improvements to the pay-out of  lieu days and compensatory leave, and language recognizing gender identity or expression as prohibited grounds of discrimination in the collective agreement.

PSAC joins the rest of Canada this February in recognizing and celebrating Black history, as well as the important contributions women and men from Black communities have made to our country.
