On behalf of the B.C. Regional Council, we are pleased to announce that the 7th B.C. Regional Triennial Convention of the Public Service Alliance of Canada will be held at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, 900 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, B.C. from Friday, June 16 to Sunday, June 18, 2017 under the theme: Honouring the Past, the Future Is Ours - 1997-2017 - Twenty Years of Solidarity.

PSAC, along with 13 other bargaining agents representing federal government employees, now have an order from the Federal Court outlining obligations the employer must meet as it works towards a resolution of the Phoenix debacle

A tentative agreement between PSAC and Treasury Board has been reached for the PA table, covering over 68,000 federal public service workers. The deal includes significant breakthroughs on “common issues,” such as sick leave and workforce adjustment, the details of which were hammered out by the common issues committee earlier this week

The federal government has announced its commitment to banning asbestos and asbestos-containing products by 2018. This is a long-awaited decision; PSAC has been calling on the federal government to ban the import, export and manufacturing of asbestos for years.

I was disappointed to see John Robson use another in a long line of flawed reports by the Fraser Institute as an excuse to launch an attack on public service workers.
