Dear PSAC member, Your vote matters! BC’s municipal and local government elections coming up on October 20th offer a chance for local residents to determine the future of their communities. As we have done in the past, the Public Service Alliance of Canada is participating in the Stronger Communities Together campaign, which is coordinated by the Canadian Labour Congress and affiliated unions.

For several years, the Phoenix payroll system has not only disrupted our members’ pay, but it has also been collecting incorrect amounts of membership dues. PSAC's Treasury Board bargaining teams, representing nearly 100,000 members in the PA, TC, SV and EB groups will be at the negotiating table the week of October 8 2018. The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) is launching a national television ad campaign to highlight the dedication of public service workers throughout the Phoenix pay system disaster, which has now been going on for two and a half years. Despite missed paycheques, fending off debt collectors, and managing endless uncertainty, PSAC members have continued to be here for Canada.

PSAC members and allies took action during the Liberal Cabinet meeting in Nanaimo on August 22nd. Approximately 150 members, along with PSAC National President Chris Aylward and Regional Executive VP Jamey Mills gathered at a rally outside the Service Canada office on Front Street, then marched to the meeting to loudly deliver an in-person message to the Justin Trudeau and his Ministers. For more than two years, over 200,000 federal public service workers have suffered because of the Phoenix pay system.
