Every three years, municipal and school board elections offer a chance for local residents to determine the future of their communities. This year’s election is on November 19.

Members of Canadian Labour Congress District Labour Councils across the province have spent time talking to and questioning many of the candidates and have compiled a list of municipal and school board candidates who:

Every three years, the PSAC holds its Triennial National Convention, where delegates from all parts of the union come together, debate and set direction for the union for the next three years.

Are you looking for a way to connect with other PSAC stewards but find it hard to make it to an evening meeting? Participate in a webinar from your home computer – gain new skills and connect with other stewards without having to leave the house.

Over the last few months, PSAC surveyed current and past union stewards, both online and in person. We received more than 1,000 responses from PSAC stewards across the country. We learned a lot more about what stewards need in order to be able to fulfill their roles and responsibilities.

Advanced Steward Training

Have you been working in your local as a steward and wish you had more knowledge about specific workplace issues?  Do you want to develop your skills to better represent your members?  Then this is the course for you!

The pace is picking up and the BC PSAC women are active and involved.  Next week the Women chairs will be meeting and at the end of the month we will participate in a one day think tank on attacking cutbacks to federal public services.  Earlier this month, I participated in the  vigil for Sisters in Spirit in Kelowna.  This is a annual national event and PSAC along with many other organizations issued a heartfelt statement ....
