Although DND civilian firefighters perform similar and often additional duties when compared to their municipal counterparts, they have been denied a fair and equitable retirement regime.

Nanaimo, BC – Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada will gather near the Service Canada Office on Front Street to call to Justin Trudeau and Cabinet Ministers to make sure federal public service workers get paid correctly and on time.

PSAC is happy to announce that a new collective agreement has been ratified by the members of Local 22000, working at the First Nations Health Authority in British Columbia.

The new contract, which expires in March 2020, contains a wage increase of 6% over three years, improvements to bereavement leave, parental leave, and overtime provisions as well as clearer language around harassment and discrimination and an amendment to health and safety provisions that promotes psychological safety in the workplace.

Purpose of the position: This position is responsible for working with the Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP), by supporting the day to day work and assisting the REVP in responding to a wide range of requests.
