Updates

Your bargaining team is pleased to announce that we reached a tentative collective agreement with the FNHA on July 12th.

Our next steps are to assemble a ratification kit and then to organize ratification meetings - which we anticipate will be held within weeks.

Members will have an opportunity to review the kit and to ask the bargaining team questions prior to a ratification vote.

We are pleased to announce that Sharon Barbour is the successful candidate in the Indeterminate Regional Representative Health and Safety position in Vancouver. Sharon joined the PSAC BC Team on July 3, 2018.

Sharon is an experienced Health and Safety advocate and has been a National Union Representative with the Canada Employment and Immigration Union for several years. Prior to that, Sharon worked as a Transportation Security Advisor.

PSAC will be offering webinars for members who volunteered to be Pay Advocates on how to address common problems with Phoenix.

Participants will explore the steps to take when handling pay problems that occur due to transfer of positions or overtime. They will also explore the claims process when employees are seeking reimbursements for costs incurred due to Phoenix errors, such as paying interest on loans.

We have just received the arbitration award from Arbitrator Judi Korbin. While we are very disappointed that many of our main issues were not addressed in this award, there were some important gains. We also want to point out that not a single one of the IMP’s concessions were granted!
