The Union was scheduled to meet with Purolator July 18 to 20. It was our intention to try and reach a deal by the end of the session. Regrettably, it was a frustrating session and despite our best efforts to conclude an agreement with the Company we were unable to do so.

The BC Federation of Labour is hiring 3 Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) facilitator coordinators to work in the BCFED OHS Centre. This is a great opportunity for people who have OHS facilitating experience in subject areas, such as OHS committees, mental health, bullying and harassment, OHS supervisor training and /or building a psychologically healthy workplace. Please share the job posting with your members and networks. The posting closes 5:00 pm, August 17th.  The posting is attached.

To PSAC Locals/Branches, Area Councils and Regional Committees in BC:

On behalf of the Mainland & Haida Gwaii Young Worker Committee, we would like to wish all PSAC members a very happy National Indigenous Peoples Day!

To mark the occasion, we are writing to share an important initiative - Soaring to Success - by a group of Indigenous workers that came out of the PSAC’s Introduction to the Union for Indigenous Members course.
