In advance of the upcoming BC Federation of Labour Convention this November, the REVP-B.C. Office is encouraging all locals who have not already affiliated to the BC Federation of Labour to do so. There is no cost for a Local to affiliate as monthly dues are paid by the PSAC nationally.The process for affiliating a Local to the BC Federation of Labour is as follows:

Fusion Festival in Holland Park is a celebration of music, food, and culture that takes place July 19th and 20th. PSAC BC will be hosting an info booth in the vendors area.As we've done for the past several years, we'll be raising the profile of our union: talking to the public and other PSAC members about our work as federal public sector workers, the effects of the cuts and PSAC's We Are All Affected campaign. These events are always fun, and are a great way to meet your fellow union members and members of the public.

On May 1st PSAC members across BC, joined by PIPSC and CAPE members, congregated outside of their worksites and sent a message to the government: we are united, ready and committed to defending public services, our collective agreements, and our working conditions. Check out the photo album!

We are holding 2 in-person and 3 online meetings for CFIA members in BC. All CFIA bargaining and ratification information is here at the national website.In-person sessions - note: it is not necessary to register, drop by at the indicated time(s): sessions will be held every 1/2 hour.

On May 1st PSAC members across BC will congregate outside of their worksites and hold signs that say "Standing Together for Public Services, Standing Together for Fairness”. It’s time to send a message to the government: We are united, ready and committed to defending our collective agreements, public services, and our working conditions.Why? Because we know this government is determined to try to take away as many of our negotiated benefits as possible.  That’s the example they’re setting.

I’d like to congratulate all the PSAC members in British Columbia for making the United Way workplace giving campaigns, once again, a success. Thank you to those of who worked hard on the campaigns and to those of you who donated to a very worthy cause.

Re: Strike at Port of VancouverAs you will have heard, the Provincial government is threatening to force striking truckers (members of Unifor) back to work through the implementation of legislation.  Working with Unifor we are organizing a rally to oppose the governments’ action.  Please encourage as many members, staff and supporters to participate in this rally.
