Political Action

Our union, along with concerned Canadians in communities across the country, has been working hard to save public services and protect jobs. We are all affected by cuts to services, and we must all take action to defend the public services PSAC members provide to Canadians.

PSAC is taking swift action in response to Treasury Board’s admission that it will not be meeting the implementation deadline for the PA, SV, TC and EB collective agreements. On behalf of the over 100,000 workers covered by these agreements, PSAC will file a complaint with the federal Public Service Labour Relations and Employment Board

Aggasiz – Federal public service workers at Correctional Service of Canada institutions in the Fraser Valley are joining in a nation-wide event organized by the Union of Solicitor General Employees, a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada. The workers will be calling on their employer to take the measures necessary to they are paid correctly and on time.

PSAC members who live in the City of Vancouver are reminded that a by-election is coming up soon! General voting day is October 14 and advance voting is October 4 and 10 – for more information visit vancouver.ca. As in past, the Vancouver & District Labour Council, who represent workers from over 100 affiliated unions in the city – including PSAC – is making an endorsement in the election.
